Flora, was the self appointed protector of Luka. A vampire who was under the spell of his creator; Kira. Now with the help of her sisters she must face the killer of innocent humans and the woman who was standing between her and the object of her affection.

Flora's only hope; She could save Luka in time and not lose him to a fate worse than death...his maker.

UP HILL by Jody Overend

Hillary Wilkes, better known as Lary - rhymes with "scary" - is a physically and romantically challenged Over Fifty. Once a big shot producer of a TV cooking show, she is abruptly fired, thanks to one Pamela Effing Griffin. Now reduced to showing real estate condos for ten bucks an hour to Typically Upscale Urban Couples, Lary is overweight and unloved.

But never mind. Life is about to change - drastically and hilariously.

The romantic misadventures of Lary, her niece, Pumpkin, and her Air Canada flight attendant pal, Becks, with a weakness for musicians, will keep you guessing until the very last page. An LOL tale, UpHill is best enjoyed with a martini and a large pizza.

Devastated after her fiancé dies in Iraq, Claudia Foster packs up her life and moves to the city of Indianapolis. How can you love the girl who was supposed to marry your dead brother? How can that be normal?

As the two share their grief, they also share something deeper: laughter. But is it enough? Or will they spend their whole lives simply remembering Andy and never embrace the love that could be theirs if only they could have the courage to reach for it.

  4. Love the line from Once Bitten - "Sometimes you're the windshield and sometimes you're the bug"; haven't we all been there before sometime?

All the books sound interesting and like good reads.

My question is for Eirelander Publishing. With so many publishing firms out there, what was the impetus for you to create another one? What do you offer authors that makes you different or stand apart from the others?

To all the authors: I wish you much success with all your endeavors!

    Thanks.

  7. Congrats on your releases! "Remembering Andy" looks like a sweet romantic read. I am getting tired of the paranormal books that are flooding the market. I am just not a fan of the genre:( Must just be me because the genre is showing up more and more. Thanks for bringing us options!

  8. Hey kids! Just found out about this swanky party over here today lol I'm the author of Remembering Andy.

It's an emotional read featuring a couple who come together in their mutual grief and remembering a solider named Andy. The heroine was engaged to marry him, and he was the brother to the hero.

As the story unfolds, you're introduced to these folks and find out more about their lives. They find out things about each other they never knew before either.

In the end, laughter really is the best medicine, and you can heal yourself through remembrance.

I hope you'll check it out!

  9. Congrats to all the authors. The books look like a great variety. My question would be about ONCE BITTEN. Is it going to be a series?

  10. Hey June,

I was wondering the same thing. I believe I will sit down see if I can get something to do the first justice and then go from there. I know I'd like to have a sequel to it, but I want it better than the first. I'm just picky that way.

So stay tuned and hopefully soon you'll be seeing something.

Thank you for the kind words

    Ashley.

  12. Hello everyone. I am so amazingly excited to be a new author with Eirelander Publishing!

I wanted to thank AuthorsIsland for hosting this great event. There were two questions left above and I would like to combine them and answer both at once.

Hardest part of writing a book is finding a publisher willing to put the time into a title to make it great. What does Eirelander Publishers offer their authors? Just that.

This is a great party and I love getting to lok at what my fellow authors have available, dangerous too. My TBR is enormous!

  16. Hello authors!
I just spent a few minutes looking at the Eirelander Publishing catalog and there are so many great books to choose from! I think it would be difficult to choose just one. Congratulations on the recent releases!

  17. Congrats to all. Once again AuthorIsland has introduced me to some great new(to me)authors. My question is how important do you think sites like AuthorIsland are to your business? I have to admit that I have found authors, publishers and even genres through this site that I doubt I would have anywhere else. I've added Up Hill to my TBR list.

Very good question kacbooks. Why did we open yet another online publisher when there are so many to choose from? Well, it's a three part answer.

    1) We wanted to provide quality books to readers at a good price. And not just the standard romance fare. As a general publisher, we get a chance to out some wonderful horror, sci-fi, western, hard-core fantasy-- you name it.
    2) We wanted to give our authors the time, attention, and information they deserve. If someone has a promo question we're more than happy to steer them in the right direction. Sometimes in editing, if we see authors are having a similar issue, we like to pull them in for a for a quick weekend workshop.
3)We want to expand our opportunities beyond the standard. The internet is a great wide place with plenty of potential-- We want to utilize that to make the 'reading' experience that much better. For example- In September we are launching our Audio line! Woo-hoo! We're very excited. We're also looking at expanding into other digital formats next year.

    joderjo402 AT gmail DOT com

Themes on the rise: Hmmm, I would have to say that in the last couple of years ZOMBIES seem to be taking up more shelf space movie-wise, book-wise, & game-wise.

Stale themes: Personally, I don't think a lot of themes are stale, just marketed to the wrong groups. For example, I live in Texas. A while back people were saying that westerns were out of style. Not true. Maybe that's the case in large urban cities. More rural areas identify with western themes, and they sell pretty solid here in stores. People say vampires are stale. Nope. They sell solid in many places and really go from September through December.

We usually release three titles on the second Friday of the month. At times, we may release more or less. With our new audio line coming out, it will mean more releases each month.

--I found Author Island first as an author and absolutely love it. They are so wonderful in bringing books into the readers', ahem, "hands." Even when there was a pretty decent wait time between my book releases, I could always see steady traffic from AI to my own website.
As a publisher, I think Author Island is even more amazing to let us launch all our monthly releases at once. I definitely recommend AI to anyone looking for more exposure for their books.
