Celebrating A New Black Velvet Seduction Release For Susan Gabriel

Today we're celebrating the release of ONLY THE LONELY by Susan Gabriel, a erotic paranormal suspense from Black Velvet Seductions.

Susan Gabriel lives where the sun is always shining, her glass is never empty, and the balmy nights on her tropical isle swoon with romance. When she isn’t writing, you can find her strolling the shoreline with her beloved dogs, searching for treasures that wash up on the sand.

She loves many things, but nothing captivates her more than the turn of a good phrase. From the moment she uttered her first syllable, Susan embarked on a life-long love affair with words; they are the music of the mind. Just like notes on the scale, no two words resonate with the same tone. It is Susan’s fondest wish that her dear readers not only encounter letters on a page, but through her writing they hear the symphony that is life and love.

Destiny is on the line for Summer Solstice, the sultry and acerbic hostess of the popular late night talk-radio show Only the Lonely when a call comes through from a centuries-old vampire with a dark and tragic past.

Before the night is over, Summer will be drawn into the secretive world of the vampire who has the face of an angel, the needs of a man, and a thirst for human blood.

Forbidden desire turns to love, but love turns to suspicion when Summer's fans begin to turn up floating in the murky waters of the Mississippi. Will these two beings from different worlds be each other's salvation or their undoing?

  3. Katie,
I have another contemporary vampire WIP, but that will be awhile before it is completed. I hope to have it finished by late summer and I am working on a short story with a vampire theme for submission to an anthology.
If you enjoy paranormal, I have another book published with BlackVelvetSeductions entitled, The Stir of Echo which has a very interesting male lead with an unusual background.

  4. Hi Susan!

Congratulation on the new book! I watched the trailer, are there shifters in your story too? (saw a wolf and just wondered) I like the way authors have been combinding vamps and shifters.

  5. Hi CJ.
Thank you so much for stopping by the Cyber Launch today! Without giving away too much of the plot, I will tell you that there are no shifters in this story. Wolves do come into play, but in a very different way.
Thank you again for taking time to check out the trailer and I hope you liked what you saw!

  12. Annalisa,
In answer to your question, I love making the trailers for my books. I always strive to find the right mix of music, images, and words and them combining them to produce a great visual impact. It's very important to me that the final effort represents the mood of the book as well. I'm am so happy that you enjoyed the chapter excerpts and the trailer as well.

I'd like to thank everyone who stopped by today and good luck to all on the drawing!

May there always be romance in your life,
    Susan Gabriel

  13. Oh, I really like the plot for this vampire story. Actually sounds like it would make a great movie doesn't it?

Would play your two leads if it were to go to the screen? When you wrote it, did you have anyone in mind?

I think I just have enough time to read the excerpt before getting the kids up for school ;-)

You're a new author for me, which is why I love this blog, I find out about so many new to me authors. Your book sounds really good and I enjoyed the chapters. I have added it to my must buy list.

Good luck and I hope to read more from you in the future.

  16. Lauri Jo,
Who would I like to play the leads if Only the Lonely were a movie? Wow, what a great question! In fact, it's so great that I am going to post the question on my blog and on Twitter to see what readers have to say.

When I write I always have images in my head of what the characters will look like and often those images are taken from real life. For instance, in my book, The Stir of Echo, the look, accent and swagger of the male lead, Flynn, was inspired by Colin Ferrall. Echo, the female lead, was based on my cousin, Rachel...red hair and all.

As for Only the Lonely, I was thumbing through an issue of GQ and spotted a gorgeous, moody model in an ad for Hickey Freeman and I knew that I had my Lucien.
Summer's image and personality took no thinking at all...she came across loud and clear while I was writing her. Summer told me how she wanted to be portrayed, not the other way around (if that makes sense).

Thank you for giving me something wonderful to fantasize about...Only the Lonely...the movie...hmmm.
