Celebrating Marie Treanor's New Samhain Release DEMON LOVER

Today we're celebrating the new Samhain Publishing release of DEMOND LOVER, the second book in Marie Treanor's Fairytale Fantasies series.

Marie was born and bred in Scotland, but for some years moved around the UK working and studying. Now she's back home and happily married with three young children.
Having grown bored with city life, her family lives in a picturesque village by the sea where, instead of working for a living, Marie is lucky enough to be able to enjoy herself writing stories of romance and fantasy.

She draws the inspiration for her books mainly from the people around her and from Scotland's rich history.

Rumplestiltskin is not his name and this hunk’s no gnarled old goblin.

DEMON LOVER - Book Two in Marie Treanor's Fairytale Fantasies

In his quest to land her a rich husband, Gwyneth’s father has gone one step too far and bragged to the king’s steward. Now she faces an impossible task: spin a room full of straw into gold by morning, or their lives are forfeit. She despairs, until a black-garbed figure offers to solve her problem for a price. One kiss.

He returns the second night, and the third. With each sensual encounter, the stakes escalate along with her attraction to her mysterious visitor. Then he claims the ultimate price—her child—and she realizes too late she’s made a deal with the king of the Underworld.

From the moment he kisses her, Ragnorak knows Gwyneth’s child will be a worthy heir for his kingdom. But with each touch, he wants more. He wants her to be queen of his strangely beautiful world—and for her to want to stay. But that will mean giving her the ultimate weapon—the power of his name.

Gwyneth has only three chances to drive her demon lover over the edge of bliss. But when the stakes suddenly shift, it’s Ragnorak who stands to lose everything…

Warning: This book by Marie Treanor turns a well-known fairytale upside down, and involves hot sex with a villainous demon—or is he…?

  1. Happy Release Day Marie!!!

This one sounds really good! I love the idea for it and heading over now to read the excerpt!

Tell us a little bit about your Fairytale Fantasies Series - any more books coming in this series?

Best of luck with it and may it be your biggest seller yet!

  2. Oh thank you, DeNita!

The Fairytale Fantasies series was really the brain-child of my co-writer Bonnie Dee. Basically, they're re-tellings of traditional fairytales, only with a different twist - such as was Cinderella really happy ever after with Prince Charming? Was Rumplestiltskin really an ugly, evil little man? What if Sleeping Beauty slept on for a thousand years until there were no more princes left in the world?

Demon Lover is a hunky "Rumplestitlskin" with a different name :). It's the second book of the series. THe first was Cinderella Unmasked, and in November this year comes Awakening Beauty.

  5. Thanks, Karen - the cover is sexy, isn't it? :)Nathalie Winters is the artist - she did the beautiful one for Cinderella Unmasked too.

Fedora, thank you! It is great fun re-working the old, traditional tales with a new twist - it's a rich vein, and everyone loves a fairytale.

  6. Sounds like a great story. I love taking something old and twisting it into something new. I'm a big fan of erotica so the steaminess of this story is very intriguing to me. What do you like best about writing in this genre?

  7. I love how you've taken a old fairy tale and made it into a new story it sounds really good and I can't wait to see what the heroine decides to do. What gave you the ideal to do this book? Are you going to modernize any more fairy tales?

  12. I've been reading nothing but good things about this new release. When you write do you work on one book at a time or multiple stories?

  15. Thanks, Sherry! The idea was actually Bonnie's - and because we all secretly still love fairy tales, we ran with it. We both got into it very quickly!

We've got at least one more fairytale in the pipeline - we just contracted Awakening Beauty to Samhain :)

  17. Hi Leni! That's great to hear :)

Personally, I prefer to work on one story at a time - at least when I'm first writing it, because I'm really involved in it and I find it difficult to think of anything else!

However, with the Fairytale Fantasies, because Bonnie and I both have other committments and we pass the story back and forward to each other, I had to work on other stuff at the same time. Good discipline :)

  20. I did not realize Cinderella Unmasked was to be part of a series. Looking forward to reading this book. This is not a fairy tale that is redone very often.
