Celebrating Marie Treanor's New Ebook Collection Just Released By Changeling Press

Today we're celebrating the release of ROGUE WARRIORS, an new eBook collection in Marie Treanor's Tales of the Damned Series containing the stories REBEL, SOLDIER and QUEEN.

Marie was born and bred in Scotland, but for some years moved around the UK working and studying. Now she's back home and happily married with three young children. Having grown bored with city life, her family lives in a picturesque village by the sea where, instead of working for a living, Marie is lucky enough to be able to enjoy herself writing stories of romance and fantasy.

She draws the inspiration for her books mainly from the people around her and from Scotland's rich history.

ROGUE WARRIORS, an eBook collection containing the stories REBEL, SOLDIER and QUEEN by Marie Treanor.

A new war rages on Earth, and growing numbers of Dome City humans blame their immortal allies, the mysterious Dragul.

Jake Lindow is a rebel with a cause -- leading the band of outlaws who harry the Ministry in pursuit of peace, freedom and the end of Dragul domination. Kidnapping the beautiful Dragul, Crina, is part of Jake's plan; falling in love with her isn't.

Sorin, a powerful Dragul mind-specialist, is called in to investigate a violent prisoner of war whose abused mind needs all his skill to heal. For Sergeant Tanya Blake, attracted to Sorin's gorgeous, leather-clad body yet repelled by the power of his mind as it invades hers, is in the grip of desires that hover between sex and murder.

As world leaders gather for a peace conference, Gina, sex-starved daughter of the Dragul king, has more personal goals -- a night of forbidden sensual pleasures before her political marriage to Sylvus, leader of the western Dragul. However, when Gina picks up not one sexy human lover but two, she risks security, peace and ultimately her own heart.

By the time the conference ends, Gina and her friends, the Dome and the world have changed forever.

  2. Sounds like a great book I enjoyed all the excerpts. When writing a book do you ever base the characters on people you know? When writing a scene do you ever want to write it one way but the characters want it written another way?

  4. Thanks, DeNita!

Yes, the reviews were lovely and Rebel, the first book in the series, was a Recommended Read at Joyfully Reviewed as I recall :)

~Anyway, it's great to see them out as a collection, and I'm very glad they picked that cover (by Zuri), which I think is a great action scene - sexy and vaguely comic book in a classy sort of way :)

  5. Hi Sherry and thanks for the kind words!

I don;t think any of my characters is ever based on just one person that I know, but friends and family do influence them. So do faces from television and real life, and the whole is blended with imagination :)

And yes, I have often set out to wrote a scene in a particular way and then when ~I start writing, the characters take it in a different direction! It used to worry me, but I've learned to just go with it because as a rule the characters know best :)

  9. Thanks, Estella and Fedora!

It's a follow-on series from City of the Damned and Dragul Rising, and is the second trilogy to feature the Dragul. Each series follows the next generation of the same families introduced in City of the Damned, so it forms a sort of a futuristic saga :)
