Celebrating the Launch of Marie Treanor's FOREST WOLF

Marie Treanor was born and bred in Scotland, but for some years moved around the UK working and studying. Now she's back home and happily married with three young children.

Having grown bored with city life, her family lives in a picturesque village by the sea where, instead of working for a living, Marie is lucky enough to be able to enjoy herself writing stories of romance and fantasy.

She draws the inspiration for her books mainly from the people around her and from Scotland's rich history and culture - with, of course, large helpings of fun and imagination!

The wolf hunt intensifies -- but when missions are complicated by attraction, sex and divided loyalties, who's hunting whom?

As the Earth government unleashes its werewolves to track down the alien infiltrators, those in command of the invaders strike back. When Louis, their android servant, encounters the werewolf Linnet, whose mission is to kill his masters, he discovers that aliens and werewolves have something in common after all -- the need to destroy the project that created such mutants.

But Louis' primary command is to serve and protect the very invaders Linnet must defeat. Worse, Linnet's wolf is in season, and she desperately wants Louis. He's fully capable of pleasuring her, and he's programmed to follow orders, but is it right to make use of a sentient being, android or not, just to fulfill her sexual needs?

Louis has been programmed to learn from his environment, adapt, and evolve, and Linnet's about to discover he has some needs of his own...

  3. Happy Release Day, Marie.

I'm looking forward in reading this series.

What is your opinion on book trailers? Do you think they help in book sales?

    Thanks,

  4. DeNita, thank you so much! It's very exciting :)

To answer your questions, I'm planning three novellas in the series, plus a Christmas short called "Cry for the Moon".

The idea for Forest Wolf came because I wanted my werewolves in the series to thrive in different places, and I'd already done my Urban Wolf :).

And then, for her mate, I began thinking of other beings who might be alienated - or alien. And I realized I'd always wanted to write about an android discovering love in his own way and by his own understanding. It may not be a perfect love by other people's standards but... well, read the book :)

  5. Happy Release Day, Marie. I have a fondness for any kind of paranormal story, especially shifters, but haven't had a chance to start this series yet. Loved the excerpt for Urban Wolf and would love a chance to read it.

  6. Hi Anna!

Thanks for your comments and questions!

I pursued writing because I'd always wanted to :).

And yes, I'm always game to try new genres :) I'm a terrible genre hopper/combiner as it is! I a story comes to me, whatever it is, I just want to write it!

Whose work do I admire? Too many to list here! I read widely in many different genres, though, not just romance.

  7. Hi Tracey!

Book trailers... There are some beautiful ones around and I suspect they do help sales, or at least help get your name out there in different circles. Like a good cover or a good tag line, they can capture the attention.

But I confess I'm guessing about sales :) I've never amde a book trailer in my life, so I can't answer from experience. I'm a technical idiot, and I use nearly all of my free time to write, so I never seem to have the time to get my dozy head round the necessary technology :) It's on my to-do list!

  9. Hey Marie,

Thanks for answering my questions...It must be amazing to live in Scotland!!! I've always wanted to go visit!!!

Here's a couple more questions for you...
*What does your family think of your writing???
*Do you ever incorporate people in your everyday life in your books???
*Would you say that you drive the characters or are the characters the ones who determine the path of the story???
*If Forest Wolf was turned into a major motion movie(BTW, I think that would totally rock!!!) Who do you think would be ideal to play the parts of Louis and Linnet???

    Looking forward to your responses...

    Happy Reading!!!

  10. Well, Anna, today living in Scotland is incredibly windy! Normally it's just rainy - So bring your raincoat when you do visit :)

My family are proud that I write, and root for me all the way. Although they don't all know exactly what I do write :)

I don't usually incorporate whole people into my characters, but bits of real people certainly become bits of my characters - either appearance or certain aspects of their personality or past lives.

Sadly, my characters tend to drive the story, bullying me into doing what they want. I may invent them to begin with, but after a few pages, off they go :)

Hmmm, actors to play Louis and Linnet...maybe Keanu Reeves, although he's not quite right, and the actress who played Trinity in Matrix - it's late and her name escapes me!

  11. You're talking about Carrie Ann Moss...She's a kick-ass chick for sure!!!
You mentioned that's it's normally rainy in Scotland...That's awesome because there's nothing I like better than curling up inside with a couple of great books and spending the time away...And of course there's always the option of running around outside and jumping into giant puddles of water!!!
LOL on your family not knowing what you write...hehehe...You would probably shock your kids!!! :P

    Happy Reading!!!
