Celebrating Missy Martine's New Print Release

All day today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating the print release of Missy Martine's sexy shifter ménage!

AN OFFICER AND TWO GENTLEMEN by Missy Martine

The Wind River Pack 2

New York Officer Katherine "Kati" Mathews took a bullet in the line of duty and is now hiding out in a small town in Tennessee to recover. The head of a drug cartel wants her dead for killing his son and he has planted a spy in the area watching over her.

Synia Wind River and Kinnith Kowana were adopted into the Wind River Pack when they were young boys. Despite the fact one of them is a wolf, and one a falcon, they’re mates. When their alpha asks them to protect Kati, as a favor to a friend, they’re shocked, and pleased to discover she’s also their mate.

Things are going smoothly until Kati’s brother is kidnapped to lure her out. Will she discover out who she can trust before it’s too late to save his life?

    1. Good morning Author Island, and thanks so much for hosting my party today. I'm sorry I'm running late, but I just couldn't pull myself out of the bed this morning.

The Wind River Pack series is a sequel to my Wolfen Heritage Trilogy. It picks up with the same characters, and their grown children, 25 years later. The first book of the series was 'Blind Acceptance' and this book, 'An Officer and Two Gentlemen' is #2. The third book, 'The Touch of Her Hands' should be out in paperback in about 3 weeks. I'm working on #4 right now tentatively titled 'The Bride Wore Denim'

Right now, the series is planned to be 12 books. The Wind River Pack is facing a new foe that seems an awful lot like the villain they put down in the first trilogy. Could he have had a son? Only time will tell.

I will give myself a little plug while I'm here. Anybody in the Gilroy, California area will have a chance to come and tell me in person what you think of my books. I'm going to be at Sarah's Vineyard on Saturday, June 21st from 1 until 4 pm! I've got lots of goodies to give away, and plenty of print copies of my books to sell. I sure hope to see some of you there.

Again, thanks so much Author Island for hosting me today.

  2. Good Morning Missy,

I'll be here for some of the party thankfully life was good and my internet wasn't shut off. I hope it continues that way.

My question for you is this: Do your characters direct the stories by speaking to you or do you plot everything out and follow an outline of what happens and when?

Congrats on your release and the sales of your books.

    1. Thanks so much for the congrats, Robin. I always plot out my books ahead of time on an outline that I follow religiously. That doesn't mean the characters don't speak to me. I've been known to alter an outline when a character turned out to be more 'interesting' than I originally thought they would be. I had strokes when I was younger and I don't have a very easy time with short-term memory. If I don't plot everything out in an outline, I lose my place in the story. Definitely not good :) Thanks so much for stopping by today and good luck in the contest.

    1. Good morning, Kim. I got started as a writer when my hubby nagged me into it. I'd had strokes back in 2002 and had to stop working as a nurse. I went through a severe depression during recovery and started reading romance books because I couldn't do anything else. For several years I read more than 20 per month and he finally said, "You've read enough of the dang things surely by now you could write your own!" I listened to that for about 18 months and finally agreed to try and write one. I sat down and slowly wrote Table for Three. No one was more surprised than me when Siren agreed to print it. Thanks so much for stopping by today and good luck in the contest.

  4. Congrats on your release! Who was your most difficult character to write about so far?

    1. Good morning, Vanessa. I would say the heroine from Table for Three, Cass. It was hard to write her because it was my first book, and I based that story on my own 20 year abusive marriage. Like her, I got out after 20 years and met my soul mate - a much younger man! Unlike her, I didn't get an identical twin brother to go with him! Thanks so much for stopping by today and good luck in the contest.

  5. Congrats on the new release, Missy! How did you get the idea of writing the next generation of the Pack and is the new villain worse than his predecessor? And are you going to be at #RAGT?

    1. Good morning, Mary. Goodness, you got in 3 questions! Let's see, I wanted to go back to the Wyoming based pack, but honestly I could not think of any more stories or trials to put the original characters through so I got the idea of making it years later, when their children were grown. If you read the original trilogy you'll remember that children were adopted and born in the last book. I decided it was time for the next generation to find their mates. As for the villain, yes, he's much worse than the original Dr. Kaugh :) And, no, sadly, I won't be at the get-together. I will be in Las Vegas in September for Hot Mojave Knights and I'm hosting a really cool author scavenger hunt with a grand prize of a $200 gift certificate to Amazon. Should be a lot of fun! Thanks for stopping by today and good luck in the contest!

    1. Thank you for the kind wishes, bn100 - I try to think of animals that can be fierce, mysterious and even a little sexy. Wolves will always be my favorite, but I've added bears, cougars and falcons to the list - who know, there may even be more before this series is over. Thanks so much for stopping by today and good luck in the contest.

  8. have you ever thought of doing a mythical creature for a shifter(example: a dragon or a griffin? :D

    1. Truthfully, no, it's never occurred to me. I might consider a dragon, because I've read other stories as well as studied the myths about dragons. But I know absolutely nothing about the myths concerning a griffin so I couldn't do the story justice. I'll stick with what I'm comfortable with!
