All day today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating Christine Klocek-Lim's new sci fi romance release with Evernight Publishing!
WHO SAW THE DEEP by Christine Klocek-Lim
When Noah moves back home after grad school, he doesn’t expect a simple handyman job to turn deadly. Amelia seems like a sweet old lady with a run-down house, but appearances can be deceptive. When an alien ship lands in her woods, Noah discovers that everything he believed about Earth and human civilization is wrong.
Amelia already gave her heart to one man—does she really want to let another one inside? Even though Noah is everything she ever wanted, can she really trust him? He seems like a good person, but her family’s genetic legacy is more important than romance.
When all their secrets are laid bare, Noah and Amelia discover that the survival of their species may be more dependent on love than either could have imagined. Civilization endures because of anonymous acts executed by ordinary individuals. And love, especially in the face of betrayal, is worth everything.

Christine Klocek-Lim spends most of her time daydreaming—which isn't much different from what she did as a girl in northeast Pennsylvania, as a college student in Pittsburgh, as a twenty-something technical writer in New York City, and as a young mother in suburban New Jersey. For the past decade or so she's been dream-surfing in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania.
She’s published one young adult novel, Disintegrate, and is pleased to be publishing her first sci-fi romance, Who Saw the Deep, an Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award semi-finalist.
She received the 2009 Ellen La Forge Memorial Prize in poetry. She has four chapbooks: Ballroom - a love story, Cloud Studies - a sonnet sequence, How to photograph the heart, and The book of small treasures.

Good morning Christine and super congrats on your new release with Evernight Publishing!
ReplyDeleteCan you please tell us more about your new book? It sounds really interesting and I love the cover! Any chance we'll see this world you created again?
Since you're a first time guest here at AuthorIsland, can you tell us more about yourself and your other work as well?
I hope you enjoy your Cyber Launch Party today here and over on facebook today! And here's to WHO SAW THE DEEP being a big bestseller for you!
Have fun!
Hi and thanks for having me! "Who Saw the Deep" came out of an idea I had early last year: what would it be like to live for a very long time? So long that you're almost immortal? How would that make you feel, especially if you fell in love? I built the entire novel around that idea.
ReplyDeleteI may write a sequel someday, depending on whether the characters talk to me some more. :-)
My other novel is Disintegrate, a young adult book. It’s about a girl who has special powers and what happens when she meets a cute guy who’s just like her. Here’s the description:
Emily just wanted a normal life: a boyfriend, college, two parents who loved her. Instead, her dad disappeared when she was fourteen and her life at college is anything but ordinary.
When you can manipulate matter like putty and you have no idea why, how do you pretend to be like everyone else? What happens when you meet a guy who has the same powers? Do you trust him to help you find the answers you need?
Emily desperately wants to believe that Jax can help, but the stakes grow higher than she’d ever expected: someone is after them and they’re not afraid to use violence to get what they want.
I’ve also written a lot of poetry and I have four chapbooks. My latest one is a book of love poems called “Ballroom: a love story.” It’s about dance and love and happy ever after.
I don't really have a question for you. I just wanted to stop by and congratulate you on your second book!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathleen! :-)

ReplyDeleteYou must write a sequel to Who Saw The Deep! You can't leave us hanging like this!
ReplyDeleteIt's not a cliff-hanger! But there may be more to the story.... ;-)
DeleteChristine, great job! This looks like a book that I would enjoy reading. I am a little intrigued to find out where the inspiration for this piece of your work came from. It seems so different from your poetry that I remember reading. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteHi Linz, I seem to be all overflowing with ideas these days. It's odd because when I was in my 20s I couldn't think of a single thing to write about. Now I have lists and notes and outlines everywhere. This book, Who Saw the Deep, came from a daydream of mine: what would it be like to live for a really, really long time? :-)
DeleteCongratulations on your new release!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fantastic story line.

Hi Mary! Thanks for stopping by. :-D
DeleteHi, Christine, wanted to offer my congratulations on your newest book! Always wishing you the best!!! Other than a sequel to this book, do you have any more novels in the works?
ReplyDeleteHi Beth! I always have ideas. :-) I also write more steamy romance under a couple of pen names, and I have some projects in the works right now on that front. For this name, I have another novel that I'm revising. It's a sci-fi, no romance. Thanks for asking!
DeleteCongrats on your new release, sounds really good. Would love to read it.
