COUNTRY MINDED COUGAR by Sandy Sullivan

Lee James, do your momma proud country boy turned sizzling country star. He's on the fast track to be the biggest thing to hit country music since George Strait. The talent agency hired by his record company to promote him comes with a huge issue - his attraction to his agent. She's beautiful, funny, and smart, but she seems to have this hang up with being older than he is.
No way could Lee be attracted to a woman with cellulite, love handles and sagging breasts or at least that's the way Maggie sees herself. He could have any woman he wants, why her?
Can desire this blistering continue to ignite long after their one night of passion?

Good morning Sandy and super congrats on the new release!
ReplyDeleteI love cougar stories (being an woman of a certain age...lol) and really like the sound of this one.
Tell us a little bit about this story and how it came to be. I noticed it's in the Hot Flash Series, is that your series or a multi-author series?
Best of luck with the new book and I hope it's your biggest seller yet!
Thanks, DeNita. I love Cougar stories myself and yes, it must come with the age thing. LOL I turned 49 back in July so I'm right there too.
ReplyDeleteThis one is included in the Hot Flash Series by Secret Cravings Publishing. It is a multi-author series with many different sub-genres included. There will be one release in this line every other Friday.
When the call went out for submissions on this line, I immediately had an idea in my mind. Living near Nashville, TN myself, of course, it had to be something to do with country music and the story of Margaret (Maggie) and Lee exploded. Lee is a hot new country music artist and Maggie takes him on as a client through the agency she works for. She never expects to be attracted to him since she's in her mid-thirties and Lee is twenty-five. It was a blast to write!

Hi Sandy,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new release. Isn't it funny how once you hit a certain age, cougar stories are more appealing. I can't wait to read this one.
Why do you suppose we love cowboys so much?
Thanks Marie. I hope you enjoy it when you get a chance to read it.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why we love cowboys so much except they seem to have a hidden strength about them. Good manners, that little drawl when they say darlin'. It makes me melt. LOL
Maybe we'll get some others to comment on their love of cowboys.

Hi Sandy,
ReplyDeleteLove cougar books. I guess because it something I have made a silly jokes about as I live in a University town and lots of young things rolling about the streets. I don't think I would ever have the nerve to be the "older" woman in some young guys life. But I love to read books like this.
What is next for you, what are you working on now?
Congrats Sandy on your new release! Seems like a wonderful story.
ReplyDeleteAnd I like the cover.
Looking forward to reading your book!

Congrats on your new release, Sandy.Like so many others have said, I love cougar stories. I would ask a question, but all the ones I had have already been asked. I will just say, you are a very talented woman.

Congratulations, Sandy, on the release of Country Minded Cougar.
ReplyDeleteI started to say that I am past the age of being a cougar and then I remembered - a certain number of years ago I was at that age and I found a younger man. It took me awhile to get over the age difference, but we've been together almost 12 years!
Enjoy the party!!

Thank so much for stopping by Karen. I'm glad you found the love of your life. Go Cougar!
ReplyDeleteI found mine and although there isn't enough years between us for me to be a Cougar, he is 2 1/2 years younger. LOL
~ Sandy
i love the cover and the excerpts were wonderful. i can't wait to read the book and see what happens next.

Hi Sandy
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new release..I also love cougar books.
What was one of your favorite scenes to write?
elaing8(at)netscape(dot)net
Probably the scene where these two meet. It's in the famous Wildhorse Saloon and she doesn't know who he is until he introduces himself. That is after he's come onto her.
ReplyDeleteLOL

I read the blurb and it never crossed my mind that this is a cougar story. If it was a 35 year old man and a younger woman nobody would give a second thought! I mean, Lee James is an adult so why not have fun with someone that turns him on. Besides, at 35, Margaret is in her prime!

Congratulations on the release!!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the idea of a glimpse into the world of country music. As for the Cougar: there's hope for me yet.
Jen B ~ your right. If it was the man who was 35 and the woman 25, no one would think anything of it, but in our day and age, a woman dating a man 10 years her junior would bring stares. Lee is an adult and he doesn't have a problem with the age difference. Maggie does at first, but comes around to his way of thinking as he continues to show her how hot they can be together.

Congrats Sandy! Sounds like an awesome book and I love the cover! What made you choose to write a book about a cougar and a rising country music star?

I soooo loveee Sandys books! this one sounds sooo awesome Sandy you rock and i am enjoying ur serial and all of ur books

Jessica ~ I think the reason I wrote Country Minded Cougar the way I did was partially because I live in the country music capital of the world -- just south of Nashville. I love country music and the story just seemed to fit. It popped into my brain and that was it. I had to write it. LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.

SiNn - Thank you for your comments. I'm thrilled you like my books and it sounds like you are following my free read on my website.

Cowboys, country music and a hot romance....how could I not like it? My love of cowboys began with John Wayne. My Dad would let me stay up late and we'd watch JW all night long. I love his swagger, his confidence, his angelic grin. There are not too many JWs left in this world.
ReplyDeleteQ: what country music did you listen to as you wrote this story?
Maria

Hi Maria,
ReplyDeleteI have Garth Brooks, Clay Walker, Jason Michael Carroll, Bryan Adams, Chris Young, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride, Journey, Reo Speedwagon, Queen, Sugarland and Toby Keith on my IPOD. I usually hit shuffle and away I go.
Of course, I have to have complete silence if I'm writing a sex scene. I get too distracted if I don't. LOL
