Celebrating A New Montana Cowboy Story From Sandy Sullivan

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating the release of book two in Sandy Sullivan's Montana Cowboys Series, BEFORE THE NIGHT IS OVER!

Sandy is a romance author, who, when not writing, spends her time with her husband Shaun on their farm in middle Tennessee. She loves to ride her horses, play with their dogs and relax on the porch, enjoying the rolling hills of her home south of Nashville. County music is a passion of hers and she loves to listen to it while she writes.

She is an avid reader of romance novels and enjoys reading Nora Roberts, Jude Deveraux and Susan Wiggs. Finding new authors and delving into something different helps feed the need for literature. A registered nurse by education, she loves to help people and spread the enjoyment of romance to those around her with her novels. She loves cowboys so you'll find many of her novels have sexy men in tight jeans and cowboy boots.

Montana Cowboys Book Two

Small town America. Laurel Hayes, Homicide Detective from Los Angeles...What the hell was she doing in Red Rock, Montana?

Trying to convince her sister Elizabeth it wasn't normal for a husband to beat the shit out of her until bruises and welts formed, she decides to take matters into her own hands and lay the man out flat in the middle of the local honky-tonk. What she wasn't prepared for was for devilishly handsome Kale Dunn to step into the fray.

The mass of red hair and big blue eyes stopped Kale in his tracks as he watched the gorgeous woman deck one of his ranch hands. When he heard her accuse the guy of abusing his wife, he couldn't help but admire her grit. Thoughts of harboring all her fiery passion in bed, keeps him in a constant state of arousal every time he runs into her.

Laurel is harboring her own wounds and he must decide whether he wants to attempt to overcome her mistrust of men and she has to decide whether she can put his past ménage with Cade and Natalie behind her.

  4. Happy release day, Sandy! Can't believe it's book 2 already, but delighted it's time for book 2 already!

BTW, you're such a speedy writer--about how long does it take you to finish a book? (I know it must depend a bit on length, but ballpark?) Do you write full time?

If so fortunate, I'd love Love Me Once, Love Me Twice.

    Thanks for celebrating, Sandy!

  5. Hello Sandy!

Congratulations on your new release. I love that the heroine is a take charge person. A fearless heroine is always attractive to an Alpha hero. I also like that she is a fish out of water being a city girl in the country. I think Before the Night is Over sounds lovely.

  7. Congratualtions on your new release. How many books do you plan for your Cowboy series? The majority of your bakclist seem to be cowboy/ranch books, what appeals to you about the hero/setting as a writer?

  10. Wow! Thanks for the great questions and I'm glad you all enjoyed the excerpts. Let me see if I can answer some of these.

Chele ~ Mostly I write cowboys since they are such a love of mine although not all my guys are cowboys. My Between The Sheets series with siren, one guy is a construction worker, one is a doctor and one is a paramedic.

Time it takes for a book? Right now I am writing full time or as much as I can. Depending on the length of the book and how much time I can spend on one specific title, I can usually write one about 50k in six weeks or so. A lot depends on how much the characters are talking to me.

Anne ~ Right now, I'm not sure how many will be in the Montana Cowboys series. I kind of go with the flow so it could be several. Yes, most of my backlist is cowboys and I love them, thus writing them. LOL They are usually so alpha yet so soft with the heroine, how can anyone not love 'em?

June ~ My favorites on my IPOD are Clay Walker, Chris Young, Garth Brooks, Rascal Flatts, and several others, but my two favorites are Clay and Chris.

Tracey ~ Most publishing houses do their own covers and have their own cover artists. Authors don't have a huge amount of input in what comes out on the covers, but Secret Cravings artists let the authors have tons of input into what comes out.

    ~ Sandy

  11. Another story from Sandy. I enjoy them so much., Congrats and great interview

  12. Oh I love me some cowboys! This is a new series for me and I will most certainly be checking it out. How many series do you have going on right now? I checked out your website and it looks like there are several with only one or two books in them. How do you keep all your storylines straight?

  13. Katie ~ I do have several series going at this point. Unfortunately, there are some that will never see another piece due to problems with the publisher. Those with SCP will continue and I'm writing another piece to the Wilder Series with Siren Publishing.

It can be difficult to keep the characters straight, but since they usually become such a part of me, I don't find it too hard. A database works great too!
